El Caño La Guardia tiene aproximadamente 55 km. de longitud y está ubicado al sur del estado Apure, Venezuela. Es parte del Parque Nacional Cinaruco Capanaparo y drena sus aguas al río Capanaparo. Sus aguas son moderadamente tánicas y acidas. En sus riveras podemos encontrar palmas de morichito (Mauritiella aculeata).

En el año 2009 se termino el puente sobre el río Cinaruco reduciendo el tiempo de viaje a la parte sur de Venezuela considerablemente. Antes había que esperar en una cola para subir los vehículos a una chalana. En algunas ocasiones teníamos que esperar hasta 2 horas, ahora se cruza en segundos.
